Family of Four

Finally! So glad the rain decided to give us a break. And look what a perfect, beautiful afternoon we had for this family of four.

There are many neat family portraits from this shoot, but I keep on coming back to this one. Must be my fave.

Very similar to shot above - just showing the vertical, black and white version with a little vintage texture around the edges. Both are great - just depends on what "look" the family wants. Just a note - For all clients & all sessions, I give images in both color and black and white. If there is a color image you want me to convert, just let me know and I'll upload it to your online album.

Right before we wrapped up, the light was hitting this fountain. Perfect time for a shot of Mom and Dad.

And lastly, just some fun ones. I was laughing when I took these, and I still am while writing this! I'm really glad they were up for everything I wanted to try on them. Thanks for being so laid back and flexible!

Thanks, y'all! Hope y'all had a great time in Hawaii. Aloha!

Hubby says "no" to football and "yes" to Photo Jewels!

A big joke in our house revolves around us making fun of infomercials and ridiculous news headlines. So, when my husband recently rescheduled one of his beloved football weekends, I told him I was going to post it on my blog since all of my other weekends in October are booked.

Yes, I have an ENTIRE weekend empty and waiting to be filled with photo shoots! So... if you are wanting to get some fun, creative photography done of your family, kids, dog, whatever, give me a call soon. This isn't part of my holiday special, but we can still gear the session towards Christmas cards if you'd like.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10TH, morning and afternoon sessions now available

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11TH, afternoon sessions now available

On another note, it appears the rain has finally decided to take a hike after what seems like forever around here. Green grass is nice to look at, but isn't good for photographers, golfers, lawn care people, and the outdoor shopping malls (to name a few). So... it's catch up time. I'm so excited to share the stuff I've got coming up - family, baby, engagement!

And because every post is more fun with a picture, here we are last weekend:

Soft Cover Books

Seeing is believing. And because the final product IS the most important part of a photo session, every so often I am going to do a post displaying various sample products.

These soft cover books are a fun way to display just a few or all of the images from your session in a storybook-like setting. They are available in 3 different sizes on 3 different paper types.

I designed a custom cover for the smaller book, and the larger is a full-bleed image for the cover.

Here's the smaller book laid open, and the backside of the larger book.

Keep these neat products in mind for your next photo shoot. Can't you just see grandma whipping one of these out of her purse to show off her grand babies? More neat stuff coming soon!

Oh, and where are all the sneak peeks from my shoots lately? Well, if this rain would hurry up and move outta DFW, then maybe I'd be able to get out there and get caught up.

Bag Tags

School is back in full swing these days, so I thought I'd post a couple pics with my latest creations. Well, actually I've been making these custom, photo bag tags for my son for the past 3 years, but this is the first time I've made them for someone else! This year I made separate tags for his backpack and his lunchbox. Since he's only 3, he obviously isn't reading yet, but he definitely can recognize his own picture on his bags! I figured this would also come in handy if there are other little boys at his school who have the same bags as he does.

And if all that stuff never happens, they sure are cute and I had fun making them! :)

The backpack tags are 3" x 5" in size. The lunchbox tag is 2"x2". Both are double sided.

Here are a couple tags I made for some girlies. You will recognize them from a recent shoot. They are pretty memorable. The older sis has a pretty serious peanut allergy, so I included that info on the tag. Her mom makes sure to tell all her teachers about the allergy, but it never hurts to include it on something eye-catching like this tag.

These tags were designed to match color schemes of the backpacks each girl picked out for school this year.

Oh, and please excuse the copyright "photo jewels" all over. I also put "xxx" in place of last names and phone numbers. Lately I've been hearing/reading so much about photos of children being illegally copied from blogs that I don't want to leave my stuff open for exploitation.

Backpack tags are $10, and the lunchbox tags are $8. I can create them from any session. I might be able to give a "sibling discount" as well if you have more than one kiddo.
