Cutie!

This past Saturday I was in Longview visiting family and had the opportunity to squeeze in a fun, girly, 4 year old session. She was so sweet and calm. You don't see too many like that! We were able to use a beautiful, historic home and its surrounding gardens - perfect for a little girl.

Towards the end of the session, she finally started warming up a bit more, and that is when we got the more genuine smiles. That's usually how it goes! It was really difficult to choose what to post here. I love this first little grin.

Referral Bucks!

A few clients have asked me if I have a referral credit program. I'm happy to say I now have one in place. It's quite simple! For every new referral who books & completes a session in 2009, the referring client will receive $15 off their next session. Just think - send 3 new referrals to me and that will take $45 off your next shoot with me! Refer 5 new clients and get $75 off!

Those referrals bucks really do add up! Now is a great time to send someone new my way. I'll be announcing my holiday special very soon, and some new changes for Photo Jewels in 2010.

And... don't forget about my Real Life Letters. These are such unique, personalized gifts and are perfect for just about anyone! Check them out on my website under "Real Life Letters".

Fun on the Farm!

Last week I met up with a friend I met through my Wednesday night Ladies' Bible study group and her family to photograph her daughter's one year pictures, as well as capture some of her immediate family and her in-laws. They live in old Wylie (correct me I'm wrong here - I think that's where we were!) and have a beautiful country setting with everything from a barn with horses, cats, a pig, rooster, etc., to a very well-landscaped yard. It's always fun to go somewhere new and try out new things! Here are some of my favorites.

Party of Four

Due to my recent blogger changes, there's been a little more delay than I'd like in getting these sneak peeks out for this family. They came over last week for a simple family studio shoot. The kids had obviously been very well trained in the fine art of "cheese-ing" it for the camera! Pick up the camera - "cheese!" Couldn't be easier!

We did some fun stuff at the end with the kiddos. I think you'll be able to tell which ones those are!

New Look for the Blog!

Well, as you can surely tell, this is a new look for my blog! I hope you like it. It is currently a work in progress and probably will continue to be until I have all the kinks straightened out! So, please bear with me as I work to get this thing looking the way I want!

Wow!

What a shoot this was! Too much fun!

The main goal was to capture some good stuff of little sister, who will be two this week. However, you will see that big sister just couldn't stay away for long...

You might recognize this duo from my website.

Her many faces:

My favorite of the twosome:

Needless to say, her hair is fabulous.

Tickle time!

Time for an outfit change. Sparkly, fairy dress-up time with heels.

Wouldn't be complete without a recital from big sister. This is an arabesque, I believe. There are so many hilarious moves I caught on camera.

Being silly...

Slowing down a bit...

And a little sisterly love. The expressions here crack me up.

I hope you girls haven't missed the purple heels you left over here! Don't worry - there are no girls around here to be touching them in the meantime! :) Well, except for me I guess, and I'm pretty sure they're not my size anyway....

Easiest Baby EVER!!!

She may be the easiest baby I have ever photographed. Was almost completely still once we placed her where we wanted her, and then proceeded to look directly at me with full eye contact. Amazing. And easy. Wow. Look how cute at 9 months!

Even the soles of her shoes match her outfit!

She loved to stand, but isn't walking yet, which makes things a bit easier. Sometimes when you try to get shots like this below, they turn around to glance at you over their shoulder, lose balance, and tump over. Not her. Legs of steel. Haha.
"Wonder what this woven basket tastes like?"
I had a great time with you all. There are so many great shots of your little one. Can't wait to share. I'll be in touch shortly with everything!

Christmas in July!

I know it is just tooooooo hot to be even writing this, but it's not too early to begin thinking about your fall/winter holiday session!!! I am nailing down my fall/winter schedule with my husband and will be posting available dates in the coming weeks. The holiday rush really does begin in September and ends around Thanksgiving, so please give me a call or drop me an email soon if you are interested!

I know how popular photo greeting cards are for the holidays, so I will be offering a discounted session geared specifically towards Christmas cards. Details are coming soon. Past clients will receive an email first, then I will announce it here on the blog.

Thanks again to all my wonderful clients, all of the referrals, and for your customer loyalty! I truly enjoy creating special memories for you and your family that I hope you will always treasure!

Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Weeny, Green Polka Dot Bikini!

Fun, fun, fun! This little lady came over for the summer promo as well. She turns 2 in August. She wasn't too sure about the studio lights flashing, so we eventually took her outside to see if that would help her loosen up. Here she is with all her gear. I bet she's thinking, "Umm, so where's the pool?"

Cute little ruffles in action!
We squeezed a few little grins out of her...
Not thrilled about the tutu. Me and Mom not thrilled about 103 heat outside!

All smiles when playing with Mommy!

Stay tuned! Couple more summer promo sneak peeks, plus a family of 4! Busy, busy!

First of the Summer Promo Shoots

This little man was the first of my Summer 09 Promo customers. At 11 months, he is already showing mom and dad that he has quite the opinion!

Sweet little baby smile - look at those teeth!

Daddy got him laughing pretty good for this one:

So innocent!

And just a little B&W...

Thanks, y'all! It was fun meeting you and little guy. I look forward to seeing you again soon before the next *arrival*! :) Maybe big brother will be up for something down the road, too!

2 Brothers + Mom + Dad = Fun Fam on the Fourth!

Yes, these were taken the morning of last Saturday, the Fourth of July! We had scheduled this session for June but with some of the 100+ temps we were having around that time, we rescheduled for a morning shoot to avoid the heat. It worked out pretty well. We got to hang out on the square in downtown Rockwall before the parade got started. I figured it was only fitting to start out with something flag related.

They were such a fun, laidback family and the boys were GREAT. I really mean it. For being 3 1/2 and 2, they were so well-mannered and calm about the whole thing. My three year old would not have tolerated it as well.

This was one of the last shots we did. And more of my favorites follow.

A classic, smiley brother shot for Mom.

No, it did not come out of my camera looking this way! This one has a subtle vintage mask over it for a different, creative effect.

And now just for a few funny ones!

And lastly... mom and dad are going to be so proud... Um, what just happened here?

Thanks, guys! Can't wait to share the rest!
