Keep an eye out...

and you just might spy your kiddo smiling back at you at the doctor's office. Well, that's if they are a patient at Lake Pointe Pediatric Associates. I recently got to add a little spice to their office space with some awesome products. I wish everyone could see these in person because they are so neat and the colors are so vibrant!

These first 2 displays are in the well-child lobby area. See anyone you know?





This baby collage is so darn cute. The staff were oooing and ahhhing over the babies pictured. They were picking out the patients they recognized right away. I did a nice canvas texture finish on the 24x30 collage, and although it is hard to see in this picture, the product is actually mounted to stand off the wall about an inch.





And lastly, this display is by the check out desk where the kids are awarded their dum-dum suckers for enduring the pleasantries of the exam rooms. These last ones are on a metallic type surface and are also raised off the wall for a neat effect.

(In fact the images are looking maybe a tad too vibrant in this post - long explanation here, but let's just say I grabbed my camera and took these in between practicing first attempts at anchor/nail drilling 101, learning how to avoid a stud in the wall, and balancing on a plastic chair while trying not to drop anything or fall off!)

While these products are only available through a pro lab, I would love to order these for any of my clients, so keep them in mind.

The Whole Package

Great friends of ours. Sweet family. Cute boys. Beautiful day. Fun session...















Ok, this last one warrants some type of explanation. When leaving the park, we took note that someone apparently was getting married in the gazebo that day, and having their reception in the nearby pavilion. We were wondering how all of their pictures from that day turned out with play equipment and chain link in the background??? A lot of Photoshop work for somebody, and glad that person wasn't me! Anyway, we thought it would be kinda funny to take advantage of the opportunity for a totally cheeseball pose. Had to post.

And he's back!

This week we captured little P in all his one-ness. Since we did his 6 month pics in a more park-like setting, we hit downtown Rockwall for his one year's. He has really grown (as they tend to do) and has the prettiest big blue eyes. Check it out...





The acorns were far more interesting than anything his mom, his Mimi, or I could do to get his attention, so I took the opportunity to get some shots of his cute little chubby hands.



We were laughing when I took this because he is striking the perfect pointer dog pose.



Some of his many expressions... most of them in reaction to the loud trucks passing by. All boy!




And to completely change it up, here are a couple of my brother and sister-in-law from this last weekend in Tyler. I get to put together their Christmas card as well, so we were getting some updated images for that. And I got their approval to share...

Every shoot has a story...

Every photo shoot has a story - well, to me at least. That's just part of observing and learning about the family you are documenting. I love that aspect of my job. This session has a great story.

My 4th of 5 sessions this past weekend (and the first I can blog about because all prior are Christmas stuff that will remain under wraps) - this 18th month old was so happy, easy going, and completely enamored with the trains in downtown Longview. If I can go 80s on you, this place was TOTALLY RAD for a boy's photo shoot! I was so excited the family was up for this location.





He's got a great duo as parents. He is one loved little boy.









This is where the real fun began. We watched as the yellow Union Pacific engine rolled by and came to a stop right around the old buildings we were using. Little man's dad simply walked over and began talking to the engineer about the trains and asked if they could climb on for a few pictures. No problemo, which led to a very neat opportunity.

Here is Little Man seeing the rain, turning around to see if Mom was watching him, then him taking off towards the train. Next thing you know......



We ended up getting a tour of the engineer's area of the train (I'm sure there is a technical term for this). Little Man got to press the button to make the train blow its whistle, ding-ding, and flash lights. Below you can see the sequence of events.

After train time, we headed over to a softer side of downtown for some relaxed, candid shots.



All in all, a very fun experience for all involved, and a memorable one at that. Sometimes there are so many neat images from a session that it's hard to pick, and this one was no exception. Keep on reminding myself - this is a SNEAK, not the whole album! :)

Bippity Bobbity Boo!

Little Miss didn't actually come over to celebrate Halloween, but she did model her rose costume. To me she looks like a mini little fairy-godmother or something, ready to turn that pumpkin into something better. She just celebrated her first birthday, so her mom brought over all kinds of fun things to capture this important milestone.



So cute and she has the most pleasant little expression on her face. Totally indicative of her personality, as she is one of the most (if not the most) good natured babies I have ever photographed.




Toward the end, mom whipped out her smash cake with her monogrammed bib and bloomers and we let her have at it! But... she pretty much had no interest in eating it. She did take the candle out and tried to put it back several times.


Thanks y'all! Once again, she was the perfect subject and it was fun seeing you again. Looking forward to next time...

Suspense!

As much as I'd love to do a couple big posts from the sessions this past weekend, I don't want to spoil the fun. These families both plan to use the images for some custom-designed cards, so I want their first "reveal" to be when they actually mail their holiday cards out. Same goes for all of the families I will be designing cards for in the coming weeks. Maybe I will be able to share some after the Christmas season has passed.

But I can say there was a little bit of this....


...mixed in with some of this...



I really enjoyed working with these two special families and am excited to get their vision for their cards started. Next up is a studio shoot for a repeat client who recently celebrated her 1st birthday, so come back and visit soon!

Mel & Matt - Engagement

We braved some seriously ca-razy weather last week to get these done. Anyone recall that mega storm that blew through Dallas last Thursday? Well, these were taken RIGHT before that storm let lose.

Melissa and I have been friends since 6th grade, so I was really excited to get to do these engagement photos for her. And I also loved that she wanted something different than the average, posed engagement photos.

They are having a destination wedding in Mexico, so they needed someone local to do the pre-wedding sessions. Our original plan was to shoot at the park then hit downtown Dallas, but with the weather, we were outta luck. So, we'll try again for the downtown part. I'm also doing some bridals for her later in the month, but of course I cannot post those until after the wedding! Darn!
















Check out these clouds and this light. If it appears like it was about to downpour, well, it was!



The weather and clouds were so crazy. It was like in a movie. The sun was setting over behind this beautiful estate and we were getting tons of great shots, working the flare (see below). All of the sudden Matt looks up and says, "Um, I think it's about to rain. Really hard." This huge, dark grey cloud moved overhead within about 10 seconds flat. By the time we ran back to the cars, the trees were blowing and leaves were falling all around us. Good thing we wrapped it up, because it got ugly!

One is One-derful!

We went for 2 rounds with this little lady. She was getting a bit sleepy when we first tried on Saturday morning, but was all geared up for our second attempt on Sunday afternoon! Amazing what naps do for little ones. She recently celebrated her first birthday and her mom had some adorable outfits for her to show off!

Then it was tutu time...



And then just a few in the bloomers and bow.



I call these "jungle baby". Would you believe these were all taken at someone's house? Can you say mini-Arboretum! She wasn't as taken with the landscaping as we were - the rocks were her thing.
