Dax + Mom & Dad

Talk about one laid back little guy! I was totally surprised when about 1/3 of the way through our shoot, he falls asleep. Yes, in the middle of the park in mom's arms. Definitely a first!! Guess he was super tired!?!? After a brief catnap car ride, he woke up happy and we were able to finish.

Absolutely beautiful day before it warmed up to 106 for the high. Whew. I envy photographers in like Colorado and Utah this time of year.

But it is worth it when you come away with images like these, I think!

OH, and the website is STILL down. Gosh I thought it would have been back up by now, but it's going to be another day possibly. If anyone wants pricing/scheduling info, contact me. I think I only have like 2 Saturday morning spots for the fall left!

Sleepy time. "Hmmm, think I'll fall asleep now since I've got the paci and feelin' pretty comfy... who cares if it's in the middle of the park and this is supposed to be a photo shoot, right!?"

I didn't mind waiting at all because when he got a little rest, he was so happy and smiley. And I'll never complain about smiling babies!

To die for baby blue eyes and creamy skin!

Thank you for being so patient and flexible for our session! I think we captured some wonderful images you will enjoy looking at for a very long time. More soon! :)

Website Down

Just a short note to say my website (not the blog) will be down for 24-48 hours while some changes are made. So, if you have tried to visit and it wouldn't come up, that's why. It'll be back soon!

A Year in the Life of...

::: LUKE :::!!!

He's one! Look what a big boy he is now. Thought it would be fun to show a few from our prior sessions, so keep scrolling to see how much he's changed in just 12 months. Oh, and to see a super-fun, surprise ending!!

One year...

A year ago - I think he was 7 days...

3 months...

6 months...

9 months...

And one year again. I think this is my favorite shot from the day (below). I've really enjoyed working with this family over the last year. They are always up for anything and are so easy to work with. They've been so flexible with scheduling and have referred lots of new people my way. Really, now that we've completed 5 sessions in a year's time, they are clients I also call friends.

Luke is a happy, content little guy. Well, he's really not small, he's actually kinda bigger for his age, but still! It was so simple to get a real smile from him - makes my job easier!

Diaper back on and ready for the rest of the day!

Published again!

If you live in the Rockwall area and get the Dallas Morning News, my work is on the cover of the Rockwall section today! It's in promotion of upcoming Fashion Week for the Fashionistas Two, which is coming up very soon. I'll try to get more details and pictures of the article up later.

It's always fun to see your work appear in a new and different format than the usual.

Brooklyn, 2 yrs

This little lady recently turned two, so she celebrated by bringing her mom, aunt, and grandma over for a lil photo shoot. At first she wanted nothing to do with the whole process, but with the help of the Christmas Chicken and her grandma, she broke into some laughter and smiles.

I think these first 3 are some of my faves, and they were some of the last shots taken. Oh, and her eyelashes are totally not fair!

Trio

More of this fun trio in uniform.... this might be a fave:

These girls are best friends and you can tell they have a lot of fun together.

Cheyenne...

Alaina....

Changing it up a bit for some head shots.

I don't think I was this photogenic at 15. Pretty sure I wasn't. Such natural and pretty smiles:

Madi....

Thanks girls! So fun & hope you love your album! :)

Wedding Album

Remember the wedding I did back in March? Well, I just delivered their beeee-uuu-tifullll 24-page wedding album to them this past Sunday. Took some shots of it before handing it over so I could share here.

Very similar to the coffee table album I am now offering clients. They opted for a black leather cover with silver foil embossing on the front cover. The pages are nice and thick, so much so that you think you've grabbed 2-3 stuck together but it's really just one. There is a linen texture on each page that you can't see much in the photos here but it looks great in person. And this book is HEAVY!!! What a special keepsake to have for all of the years to come.

Big thank you to Mary & Sam for trusting me to capture such a HUGE milestone in their life together. Y'all were such great people to work with and I have enjoyed getting to know you. Now... you may not see me for a while but better call me when you guys have a baby! :)

Near & Dear

Last week I had a lot of fun with these girls from the Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers. Major flashback to my own dance team days, um, several years ago. Guess they haven't reinvented the classic white boot in the last 10+ years, because I swear their boots are the same exact ones we wore!

These ladies were really sweet and so easy to work with. More soon.... :)

MMMMMM Kaaaaayyy!

Sooooooo I was going through Ariana's album, trying to narrow it down, and finally was able to choose like my favorite 22 photos to post here on the blog! No, seriously, this album is full of simply gorgeous photos of this stunning little lady. I don't think there are quite 22 here, but there are a'plenty!

It was a million gazillion degrees when we did this, but Ariana was totally cool with everything we did! And I really appreciate her mom, grandma and grandpa for being so willing to brave the Dallas heat and mosquitoes! I hope we caught images that makes it worth it all!
