Couple more

Just a couple more shots from last Saturday. When editing, I usually grab the first ones to catch my eye, edit those and put them up here on the blog. Sometimes when I go through the rest of the album, I end up liking a couple more just as much. So, here are more!

From the cupcake shop...

I would love to have a image like this of me, hubby, and Jameson when he was around this age. Maybe it's because I have a thing for images that also capture a bit of an architectural element along with subject...

It reminded me of this photo below that I took of my boys last fall at the park. My hubby was out there with me and I saw this tree and said, "Oooo, go stick them under that tree... that could be cool!" I think he thought I was somewhat crazy, thinking "that looks like a half dead tree to me." Well, I think the end result turned out great with the tree branches across the top and the boys below. Yes, they could've been actually looking at me, but they obviously were having an important conversation about sticks, leaves or rocks. That's life!

Speaking of a "couple more" - I've got a couple more fun announcements to share but I need to get back to editing from last weekend. :)

The Dancing Queen is One

This little lady recently celebrated her first birthday. We met up in Frisco last weekend to capture some cute shots of her. She still is a little dancer, but her movements aren't limited to just rocking back and forth now.... she is running and is a very busy little girl.

There was a cute cupcake shop that wasn't actually open for business when we were there, but they were nice enough to let us come inside for a few shots.

We also dropped in to a local restaurant/pub that is one of their favorite hang outs. Her parents told me she loves the stage, so we let her run around and play for a while. Here she takes a short time out:

Back on the move. She does this thing with her tongue all the time and it's so funny!

A perfect ending. Thanks again, y'all!

One hot mama-to-be!

Totally not fair! Here she is, like 35 weeks pregnant, and looking THIS GREAT!!! You'd think in a maternity session like this you'd be trying to hide things here and there, work to find flattering angles and such, but nope! She looked great in everything, all of the time.

It had been a while since I had done this type of shoot, so we had a lot of fun trying out all kinds of different ideas. There were some that showed, well, a bit more skin. Although tasteful, I won't share those here. If you or someone you know is interested in a session, I will be happy to share the complete album from this session so that you have a good idea of what to expect. The ideal time for a maternity session is around 34-36 weeks, but that is flexible.

Anyway, here's Meagan and baby-on-board...

PS: The "bun in the oven" is due mid-March and I have a the privilege of doing her newborn photos as well! Yay! Can't wait to see how stylin and adorable she is, just like her mom!

Surprise!

Where has my brain been? Oh yeah, house stuff! We are knee-deep in getting our house on the market while remodeling and gradually moving over to a new house! No biggie with 2 small children underfoot, right? HAH!

So I am very tardy in posting these that were taken back mid-January (and still not caught up from posting sessions from last year, either!) Technically I was taking time off from photography (due to reasons listed in paragraph above), but I had offered to do a black and white, photo-journalistic style shoot for this friend of mine who had kinda had a tough time with a c-section and then some subsequent health issues. This was her third and final baby, and they had chosen not to find out the sex. Well, I can only imagine the excitement in the OR when they found out HE was a BOY, rounding out the family after his two sisters. I think that would be really neat, but I don't think I could hold out all 40 or so weeks!

Well, anyway, here is little Mason. We were hoping for a little snooze time, but he made sure that didn't happen. In fact, check out his expression at the end... like "Oh, you want me to sleep? Take this!"

Remember these?

Last fall I posted the image below as a teeny weeny little preview from a session. Still playing catch up, so here are a few more images from that beautiful day in the park.

It would be an understatement to say they are our good friends here in Rockwall. Ryan grew up with my hubby, Jana and I have become good friends since they moved from the Houston area to Rockwall, and Jameson & Abbie began playing together before they were a year old. The girls are just cuteness all of the time, and dressed to the nines!

PS: What's even funnier is that these boots are apparently adorable enough for even Gwen Stefani's BOY to wear. I was shamelessly surfing celebrity photos one night (i.e., a complete waste of time) and came across this:

Don't know you about you, but I'm thinking the girls rock the boots much better!

One of my favorite families...

I've been able to work with this family a couple times now, and just have really enjoyed my time with them. A very sweet, loving family that is so fun to work with.

Once again, these are from October, but since we used several photos on their Christmas cards, we kept things under wrap.

Oh, and they have such a beautiful house with such neat accessories. Makes for a very fun place to shoot!

More new stuff coming... stay tuned. :)
